Still at work

We are still at work. Skitz is currently recording his lead vocal tracks. We hope to have everything done by the end of July as it will take the Mixing Engineer at least several weeks to mix this monstrosity, then he’ll pass it off to the Mastering Engineer. We should have this album out on Halloween 2015. That has been the plan.

The good news is that the orchestration has been completed. We have tons of violins, violas, cellos, double basses, flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and trombones to mix in with all the guitars, bass guitars, drums, and vocals. I get to sing too, something I haven’t done in awhile. Not lead vocals of course, but I’ll be singing harmony on a few songs. Also one song has a bunch of us guys singing together as it’s a rowing theme. You’ll see what I mean when the album is released.

This is the first time ever for me being in a band where I’m not the exclusive lead guitarist. We are going to have a twin lead guitar attack, which I feel is a lot more METAL.

So far, I’m very proud of this album. I strongly feel like you will be impressed. We’re hoping to chart. We’ll be releasing at least two videos and will be touring heavily.

If I had to describe the album, this will be more straight up Romantic Metal. Imagine Golden Age Metal infused with 19th century Romanticism (think along the lines of Peter Tchaikovsky, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, and Richard Wagner). By Golden Age Metal, we mean 1980-1985 Metal before the great Metal Schism where you had to side between Thrash and Glam. Metal was more united and a lot more fun back then.

We’ve already written nine songs for the second album and working with Skitz has been quite interesting for me. He’s more Progressive than I am. He’s also very Jazz based. He’s also more modern, so we’ll have a more modern sound. We’ll be splitting composition duties right down the middle – half composed by Roman (me), and half composed by Skitz.

So yeah, still at work.

Roman is an artist, composer, writer, and travel junkie, and he can still throw a football
