On self-improvement

I’ve seen a lot of haters make fun of self-improvement websites. You should ALWAYS be improving. You should be learning more. You should be growing, and getting better at whatever you want to get better at.

For me personally, it’s music. Some folks it’s politics. Some it’s general learning. Some folks want to look better or feel better physically, or even spiritually. I strongly believe all self-improvement is good.

There’s an old adage that says that if you’re not growing, you’re dying. There’s another famous poem about how the old man dies when he no longer cares to know what’s on the other side of the mountain. I read that in high school, and it stuck with me for life. If you’re not growing, you’re dying.

As I get older, I’m taking diet very seriously now. Yes, I’m mainly an artist/musician, but that doesn’t mean I should let my body go to shit. I’ve found for me that lifting weights and eating high amounts of proteins and fats while cutting carbs has done wonders. I got my blood pressure checked and it’s perfect, and my heart beats 61 times a minute. Goes to show my diet is actually pretty good.

Self-improvement is great. I go to a lot of self-improvement sites to learn more about everything I can. Sometimes I strongly disagree with someone, but that’s OK. We can’t agree on everything. Plus, some folks think that if something works for them, it has to work exactly the same for you. Not always, especially it seems diet and exercise. I think with diet and exercise, you should try different things until you find something that works for you.

So anyways, keep reading those sites if you’re not already. If you have one, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to read an article or two from it.
