Let’s talk about Free Speech and Tact

I want to make one thing very clear. I believe in Free Speech. That means that nothing is off limits except for slander, copyright violations, and violations of privacy.

Slander means you can’t call someone something they’re not. If Jim called Bob a cyber thief, he may sue Jim’s ass and Jim may lose a lot of money. Unless of course, Bob really is a cyber thief. For instance, calling David Leavitt a douchebag isn’t slander. He really is a douchebag.

If you take one of my songs and play it live, and make money, you owe me a portion of the money you made. That’s how copyright laws work. Copyright laws have made some songwriters quite rich, and that’s a good thing!

As for violations of privacy, you can’t put your neighbor’s credit cards and social security numbers all over the internet. Those are violations of privacy.

Other than that, it’s all good.

I like off color humor because it’s funny. I don’t mind offensive humor when it’s funny. However, there’s such thing as tact, and some assholes do not understand this simple concept.

My last post was on Ariana Grande and my feminazi neighbor. The post wasn’t about the terrorist attack, but about the feminazi’s jealousy of a Millennial. She’s jealous because she’s a pathetic cougar who wasted her best looking years, so she hates successful young people.

Now let’s talk about Free Speech and Tact

Now, I want to talk about the terrorist attack. First things first, my heart goes out to those killed and injured by the terrorist assholes. Second, my heart goes out to the family and friends of those killed and injured by the terrorist assholes. And third, UK, get your head out of your asses and stop letting in every terrorist asshole.

Did it really have to take children getting blown to pieces for you to realize you need to prevent terrorist assholes from coming into your country in the first place? These kids shouldn’t have had to get killed. This is horrible.

Then there’s this douchebag named David Leavitt. This guy needs a good punch in the face. He deleted the tweet right after I called him a douchebag:

Romantic Metal on Free Speech and tact

David Leavitt is a douchebag

While kids were coming out of the venue still covered in blood, he was trying to make jokes about Ariana Grande. But, he didn’t stop there. He kept going.

Now, we’ve all had our moments where we’ve put our foots in our mouths. I get it. The thing to do is quickly correct the situation instead of making it worse. This dickhead kept making it worse.

To be clear

I will always defend the right to Free Speech. But when you start losing all your friends because you’re a dickhead, well, maybe you shouldn’t have been a dickhead.

Free Speech has consequences. Use your brain. Know when to use your Free Speech and know when to use tact. Sometimes, the best tact is to say absolutely nothing. Or in this case, console the grieving.
