Curse of Circe

Astral Eyes’ “Curse of Circe” from the album “Another Sacrifice Gone Wrong.”

You may know the story of the witch Circe, how she trapped Odysseus on her island and turned his men into pigs. And how he escaped and broke her heart, as she’s an immortal and he’s, well, he’s Odysseus.

We decided to swing the perspective around and put the story more from her perspective. We intentionally have a sexy beginning – a quartet with a clarinet, viola, cello, and double bass + percussion. Inspired by Arabic belly dance music.

Then it goes full bore Metal, more Golden Age Metal style.
Featuring Skitz Blackheaven on Lead Vocals and Lead Guitars and Roman on Lead & Rhythm Guitars. Thanks to all the session musicians and sound engineers who worked hard on this song. You know who you are.

Artwork by Ming Luke. Astral Eyes will be filming the final video from Another Sacrifice Gone Wrong next month in Las Vegas.

Curse of Circe

In the season of falling leaves
A fair maiden among the trees
Golden Goddess of antiquity
Standing beauties by her side
Seducing men, throughout the night
A battle of love, iniquity

You broke the curse as you sailed away
How do you expect her to feel?
Immortal love brings eternal pain
A broken heart will never heal

(Skitz solos)

You broke the curse as you sailed away
How do you expect her to feel?
A woman’s plight every day and night
A beating heart is always sincere
Whoa-oa
How do you expect her to feel?
Immortal love brings eternal pain
A broken heart will never heal

(Odysseus and his men row away – Roman solos to fade)
