My post hypoglycemia life

hikes are no problem post hypoglycemia

So, I’m walking back from downtown, back to my apartment. I haven’t had a thing to eat yet. And you know what? I feel great, because I no longer have hypoglycemia.

I explained how to get rid of hypoglycemia a few times now. It’s a shitty existence. You always have to have quick calories nearby since you can literally pass out at any time.

That meant going everywhere with a Snickers bar. When I started to feel faint, I’d simply open up the Snickers bar and eat it. That would cure it.

However, it made me a slave to food. That’s not a position you want to be in.

Post hypoglycemia

So, post hypoglycemia, I don’t even have to consider that crap any more. Now, I intermittent fast and feel consistently good throughout the day. I can even do a 24-hour fast without any problems. Before, I’d pass out if I tried to do that. I especially couldn’t exercise without eating.

So yes, my life is so much better without it. It’s a weakness for sure.

I don’t even like Snickers any more

I don’t even like Snickers any more. Now, I have a bad association with their candy bars. Nothing personal of course if you’re a Snickers employee. It’s just the association to the old days when I was weak and vulnerable. I didn’t like that feeling at all as I’m a control freak and I don’t like being dependent on anything or anyone.

That Snickers bar would start getting old and I’d have to eat it, even if I didn’t have a hypoglycemic bout. That meant buying another Snickers bar.

I can’t say enough good about the new diet my diet consultant has me under. I’m keeping it for life as my life has become so much better now.

I have consistent energy levels throughout the day. No highs, no lows, just consistently tons of energy until it’s time to go to sleep.

It’s now 8:36AM and I had already walked a mile as I had to drop my car off for a repair. I haven’t eaten since 5PM yesterday and I won’t eat until about 11:30 or Noon. I’m not even hungry. I can go lift weights or go on another walk if I wanted to.

If you’ve never had hypoglycemia, this wouldn’t be a big deal at all but if you have it, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. If you do have it, do a search for hypoglycemia in that search box and read my articles on getting rid of it. Take them seriously. I know they work because I’ve gone forty years with it and no longer have it.
