Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood lecture
I give a lecture on the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. These Victorian era English artists were a huge influence on my lyrics. Their artwork was tremendous, and you’ll see how much of both an indirect and direct influence they are on Romantic Metal.
And yes, the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was a sub-genre of Romantic art. So yes, they were Romantics too.
Hailing from Victorian England, they not only produced timeless art, they were quite sexually liberal, especially for those days. Even their muses became infamous. There have been several movies made about their lives and their affairs. I haven’t watched any of them, but I’ve read all about them.
But it’s really the later two artists who I love, especially John William Waterhouse who carried on the PRB tradition even after the group disbanded.
If you like their art, you just may like Astral Eyes and Romantic Metal. Check us out at iTunes or Amazon
